Custom-made lifting table for ABB in Sweden
We have supplied a special solution to ABB in Sweden for use in their aluminium production. The lift table is a central component in an AL-EMS system (Electromagnetic Stirring System), where it is used to lift and position an EMS stirrer under a pot of molten aluminium. This requires precision, stability and a high degree of safety – something our solution fully delivers.
Designed for precise and secure positioning
The lift table supplied is type SP-25001400T10, with a robust platform measuring 2500 x 1400 mm. The lifting capacity is 10,000 kg with evenly distributed load, with a lifting height of 777 mm. The lifting speed is approx. 30 mm/sec, and both lifting and lowering times are the same, ensuring stable and controlled movement.
Advanced features and customisations
The lift table has special equipment adapted to ABB's requirements:
- Mobile subframe with integrated steel rollers (both single and double flange), which provides flexibility in placement and maintenance.
- Positioning lock and mechanically adjustable stroke length in the cylinder, ensuring precise stop position both up and down.
- Harting connector, enabling quick and secure electrical connection.
Focus on safety and durability
There are safety frames on all four sides, and the lift table is equipped with an external power pack, IP54 rated, and valves with 24V DC. The steel arms are made of high-strength steel with long bushings and grease nipples for minimal wear – all with a view to long life and low maintenance.
This lifting table is to be used in an advanced AL-EMS system at ABB's plant, which optimises the aluminium melting process using electromagnetic stirring. This ensures a more uniform temperature and alloy in the pot, which increases quality and reduces energy consumption.
